NEW SOUTH WALES - Manager: Brad Hicks
QUEENSLAND - Manager: Tony Noyeaux
"Champagne Cricket", coach Noyeaux exclaimed at the post match press conference, as the QLD Bulls repeated their Round 1 10 wicket win, with yet another 10 wicket win.
Noyeaux's aggressive style of cricket has got the Shield team's scratching their heads. Everyone is look'n scared. To be honest, at this point they probably should be. The pre-season promise of strong batting by the Bulls has been delivered with interest..., 4 of the top 5 batting average leaders are held by Queenland; Maher 134.0, Symonds 116.50, Love 78.0, Hayden 72.50.
Unfortunately, the winning QLD combination has been broken up this week with a niggling injury to Law who will be out for a week. Seccombe has got the call up, hopefully he'll post a few runs, this backup wickey, has the selectors eyes on him.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA - Manager: Trevor Hansford
CONTROVERSIAL CATCH COSTS SOUTH AUSTRALIA THE GAME
No one was more disappointed than Jason Gillespie when he was given out first ball caught Emery bowled MacGill. His disappointment turned to anger when replays clearly showed that he had not hit the ball.
The South Australian manager though was quite impressed with the improvement of his team since the first round. They will be packing their bags for their first away game and heading off to Queensland for their next game. The South Australian manager has said that despite the fact they will be going in as underdogs he believed that a win was not impossible.
TASMANIA - Manager: Nick Rogers
VICTORIA - Manager: "Westie"
Well two losses for the start of the season isn't what we had planned but I think we will be turning it around this week with BIG workouts in the nets. Our batsman need to turn the heat up a bit as well as a couple of the bowlers, if we can do that then will should win. This is a MUST win game to be in the hunt for a top three spot.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA - Manager: Chris Rogers
NEW SOUTH WALES 2nd XI - Manager: Wally Cowan
Victory against the South Australian 2nd XI sees us sharing top position on the table with Tasmania, who we play next week. This will be a vital match for us and our first home game at North Sydney Oval. Tasmania are managed by Dave Hickey who has proven to be very tough opposition in other leagues. My record against Hickey managed teams is 0 from 2 so the boys are very keen to put one on the board for us.
QUEENSLAND 2nd XI - Manager: Bradley Ashcroft
We played a lot better this week - our batting was so much better but still our bowling wasn't much better. Pascoe's 8 wickets and Prestwidge's 6 wickets was a great performance. Next week South Australia 2nd XI, they aren't a bad side either but this week I think were gonna kick their butts. Cause the boys are sick of losing and are going to train extra hard this week.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA 2nd XI - Manager: Tyrone Marshall
SOUTH AUSTRALIA 2ND XI IN FOR MASSIVE OVERHAUL
The coach of South Australia's 2nd XI started his plan for a radical overhaul this week.
After two matches where the SA bowlers conceded 500 runs in just one innings of the match, coach, Tyrone Marshall, decided if he wanted to fight at the top with the very best of the first eleven's then he needed to take action.
In an interview he said he is focusing his main aims on "His two opening bowlers, Scuderi and Eime, and his two opening batsmen, Kelton and Davies." He also mentioned he wanted a lot more effort in the field.
SA are currently lying 4th in the 2nd XI table, after one win on the opening day of the season.
Concluding his interview he said "He feels sorry for the coach of Queensland's second eleven, come next week they won't know what has hit them."
Queensland are currently lying 5th without a win this season. Tyrone also said that he is "great" personal friend's with Tony Noyeaux, coach of Queensland's top team, he said in a friendly chat with Tony that he was sorry for next week. He also congratulated Tony on two succesive 10 wicket victorys.
TASMANIA 2nd XI - Manager: Dave Hickey
Tasmania continued their excellent Round 1 performance with another innings victory in Round 2. Teenage batsman Scott Kremerskothen continued his excellent form with a magnificent 171 to follow on from his 193no in Round 1.
Already the Tasmanians are looking like genuine contenders in this league but this week they travel to Sydney to play the very strong NSW 2nd XI who are also undefeated and very experienced.
Manager Dave Hickey is still not commenting on his teams chances, very happy to keep the underdog tag as long as possible. This tactic may help to keep pressure off his young players but Centrebet are already keeping a close eye on the form of the young Tasmanians.

Victorian 2nd XI Captain MICHAEL FOSTER | FOSTER in action against Tasmania |
After a disappointing start to the season the Victoria 2nd XI are unchanged for Round 3. We are not totally disappointed with the batsmen's performances to date. We hope for a much inproved bowling the this week match against Western Australia.
We again have to change our batting & bowling combinations. I just want the other managers know, that the Shield is not won in the second week. Still 8 more matches to go . And 8/10 is still on the cards.
We have been working on our problem area - bowling - only taking 10 wickets in the first two matches.
